INTRUSION DETECTION AND VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS
On April 15th, EL.MO. S.p.A. organized a technical refresher course in collaboration with its local partner Elcom Srl.
 EL.MO. course aimed to illustrate in detail new NET intrusion detection units and VD series DVRs.
About...
 NET intrusion detection units are fully scalable systems and expandable thanks to a wide range of accessories; they represent the ideal solution for industrial, commercial, residential solutions and offices and ensure flexibility as to installation, configuration, management and communication.
 New VD series DVRs are versatile devices that allow to built simple but effective video surveillance systems thanks to an advanced integrated operating system and MPEG-4/MJPEG compression algorithms.
 The participants were really enthusiastic about the seminar, thus acknowledging once more the importance of training and refresher courses to operate in the security field as competent professionals.
The success of the seminar confirms the commitment EL.MO. puts daily into the security field with training sessions, refresher courses and technical assistance that here have been made possible thanks to the close collaboration with Elcom Srl and A.B. Rappresentanze, EL.MO. agency for Sicily.

And this very attitude also inspired the one-day refresher seminar focused on domotic systems and surveillance over IP organized on 1st April by El.Mo. S.p.A. and MEC System, agency and distribution centre in the Lombardia region. The seminar was organized for a large group of installers, system designers and integrators, and the audience proved really interested and willing to “keep up with modern technology”, fully aware of the importance of professional constant growth.
 HOME MANAGERThe aim of the seminar was to show in detail El.Mo. domotic system and building management proposal, explaining also application solutions.
El.Mo. domotics consists of Home Manager, a centralized management system for home automation that ensures liveability, comfort, and security, qualities increasingly required.
The idea of El.Mo. domotics clearly derives from the main target of the company, that is, to provide security before everything else!
This is the reason for El.Mo. design approach developed in view of making Home Manager integrable with ETR security systems and, in so doing, making intrusion security systems part of a comprehensive home automated system.
VIDEO SURVEILLANCE OVER IP SOLUTIONS: E-VISION, networked video surveillance.
El.Mo. state-of-the-art Megapixel IP solutions: video cameras and management software applications for secure and useful video surveillance systems, fulfilling the requirements of the most demanding customers.

SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC: The application provides advanced log files for system diagnostics: system events, users actions, errors, alarms, watchdog events. Performance display: CPU, memory, network, and Hard Disk. Display of quantity of data recorded per camera and of hard disk space used.
ALARM EVENTS: Alarm events will be triggered by: no camera signal, motion / no motion, alarm input, high/low audio level. Upon alarm event, one or more of the following actions can be triggered: audio and/or video recording, alarm output activation, video display to analogue monitor, dome camera preset positions, camera sequence, activate motion detection mask, send email. Pre-, post-alarm event recording adjustable (5 to 60 mins).
SECURITY AND AUTHENTICATION: Software access is password-, and username-protected. Users’ authorizations are controlled by detailed user profiles (1 to 5 profiles per user). 3 user levels available: User, User with Monitoring Authorization, Administrator. Video security ensured by Watermarking. Data can be stored to different recording units to avoid loosing data in case of HDDs failure. Watchdog software with notification via email.

The pleasure of being together again…. - Molfetta, 8th July 2008
 ‘The pleasure of being together again….’, simple but significant words that reveal the great value of a relationship built with commitment and passion. This is the title El.Mo. SpA and Security Point gave to the meeting organized on 8th July in Molfetta, at Pineta Ricevimenti, that gathered, as usual, a large number of security professionals.
The group began the day together, starting from the breakfast and then went on with the program, with various technical and business analysis sessions.
The fundamental phases of the group’s growth were shown through an interesting overview of the pictures of the past meetings that, together with a brief company profile presentation, allowed new participants to enjoy a small piece of El.Mo. ‘lifestyle’.
During the day, the group dealt with the important issue of the professional realization of intrusion detection and video surveillance systems, especially considering the recent regulations that are more and more selective about market operators.
The gathering allowed once more the exchange of ideas and the mutual reaffirmation of the leading principles of our professional choice that has long since given us great satisfaction. Considerable space was subsequently given to the presentation of the latest product news, among which the megapixel camera and the IP camera series.
At the end of the day all participants agreed that the title of the meeting perfectly fit the aim of the day. The pleasure of being together again, the serenity of team work, and the certainty to grow together are, and will continue to be, fundamental values for the path of Molfetta group!!

DESIGN BETWEEN ETHIC AND SECURITY: 2nd NATIONAL CONVENTION OF SECURITY DESIGNERS

The design between ethic and security takes into special consideration available technology and current regulations for an ethic-compatible design. All security systems call for people needs to be considered as highly as technological solutions from the very beginning of the project.
The convention, promoted by El.Mo., has been a moment of profitable exchange among manufacturers, designers and organizations on aspects that each one of them has to face according to its specific role.
Speakers have especially stressed the growing need for interaction among security operators and have dwelt at length upon important points such as:

city and suburban video surveillance, public bodies and police force

biometric access control and privacy rules

fire detection in critical condition
-
design responsibility and regulations

Participants were also invited to a very special dinner on an old galleon sailing through our splendid Venetian lagoon.
An exceptional break: gently rocked by waves, sailing toward Venice where history, adventure and fun mixed in a turmoil of emotions.
Unmissable the Riva degli Schiavoni (Schiavoni Pier) moorage, from where an enchanting walk led through Piazza San Marco (San Marco Square), passing by Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and on the Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs).
The convention ended with the reciprocal commitment to go on with this profitable synergy aiming at the integration of technology, regulations, innovation and ethics, all necessary to seize the opportunities of a constant developing market.

Flawlessly organized, the training meeting on regulations and successful choices of IMQ-certified products has taken place at the new offices of Tecno Distribuzione in Savigliano (Cuneo).
The importance of the issue has drawn considerable attention among the several systems designers present at the meeting. The constructive environment has been the right setting to go through basic regulations and available tools for fully conscious choices concerning the realization of security systems:
from centralized architecture of integrated systems to their field application, from designing relevant technical regulations to designers responsibility, and others.
Such topical issues could not but greatly arouse presents’ curiosity.
The friendly environment has contributed to the success of this meeting along with helpfulness of Tecno Distribuzione staff, El.mo. distributor for Cuneo and Asti provinces (Italy North-West area), that strongly sees these technical services as a major benefit for its customers.

SECURITY AT IMPERIA - 28th June 2007

Intrusion detection systems, global supervision, video surveillance, and ‘Piano Normativo Nazionale Sistemi di Sicurezza’ (National Regulations Plan for Security Systems).
These, and many other topics, have been discussed last week in Imperia. The event has been organized for our designers and installers of Liguria coast area, who have been involved in the event activity by El.Mo. area representative, Mr Domenico Vatteroni.
The event was scheduled with a technical session and a training session on regulations. During the technical session, the new El.Mo.MOBILE SUITE was presented: a mobile supervision software installable on mobile phones that allows constant monitoring of houses, offices, shops, and other environments.
 A simple connection to control units or cameras will be enough for customers to have security always at hand!
An important role was also played by GLOBAL MANAGEMENT, El.Mo. global supervision software, an application that displays on graphic maps the operating status of a local/remote system including intrusion and fire detection components, CCTV, access control and building management equipment. GLOBAL MANAGEMENT can easily be installed on normal PCs or laptops, as long as they are equipped with wireless LAN connection.
At the event, security has not only been discussed from a technical point of view, but relevant regulation issues have been dwelt upon properly as well. On the subject has spoken Mr Roberto Dalla Torre, an engineer from Istituto Nazionale IMQ (IMQ National Institute) and a long-standing point of reference for El.Mo.; he has explained the ‘Piano Normativo Nazionale Sistemi di Sicurezza’ (National Regulations Plan for Security Systems) and CEI 79-3 standard leaving considerable space for participants’ questions, especially interested in the ‘installer responsibility’ issue.
A real and profitable full immersion in the security field that will certainly be repeated soon with the aim to involve more and more sector operators, so....

The success of training
Meeting on ‘INTEGRATED SECURITY SYSTEMS’
On Tuesday, 5th June 2007, Mec System, El.Mo. Lombardy agency, has organized a training afternoon for its designers and installers.
The session has been a great success: more than 70 people eager to get to the bottom of some key issues of security field, such as video surveillance, access control, supervision systems.
The specialized advice of Engineer Pastorello has been valuable and fundamental: he has supported Mec System team in the presentation of El.Mo. ETR system related to possible connections to access control and video equipment.
Special attention has been paid to the presentation of new LX standalone terminals, able to operate with time&attendance function combined with Time Pro 2006 software, and of Security Mobilesystem, that ensures an easy video control and management of ETR units from mobile phones.
The session has been a moment of great interest and profitable exchange and has deservedly awarded participants’ professional competence and organizers’ efforts!

A new opportunity for technical training: two study sessions for Sardinian installers and designers.
On 9th and 10th May, El.Mo. Sardinia agency - ‘Centro Vendita Sicurezza’ - has organized two technical sessions for its installers and designers from Sassari and Cagliari; topics dwelt upon have been ETR intrusion detection units and FX fire detection units
.
Participants, eager to improve more and more their professional competence, have discussed several issues: units and accessories installation, units configuration, fire detection regulations, and more.
The sessions are part of a comprehensive training project that C.V.S. (Centro Vendita Sicurezza) is pleased to offer to its customers and that has started at the beginning of the year and will continue in the months to come.

TECHNICAL / MARKETING UPDATE MEETING MOLFETTA, 6th July 2006
On Thursday, 6th July a new El.Mo. update meeting, APPROFONDIMENTI E INNOVAZIONI - Analysis and Innovation, has taken place at Molfetta, Hotel Garden, with Molfetta Installers Group (BARI-Italy). The Group is organized by Security Point, the local area dealer, a modern and efficient distributor of El.Mo. products brightly led by Mr and Mrs Gadaleta.
Update meetings with training sessions started three years ago and since have been attended by a lively group of field operators willing to improve their knowledge on technical aspects of El.Mo. products and their applications, and also on marketing strategies covering organization and commercial opportunities arising from the attention El.Mo. pays to its customers and to the security market.
During the technical presentations, the strong points of products under examination have been illustrated: the great flexibility of ETR system, that some ‘enlightened minds’ at the meeting had the brilliant idea to compare to Aladdin’s lamp, since it satisfies whichever installing desire and need; the exclusiveness of WAP application, that allows users to be reached wherever they are in order to keep ‘under control’ their systems and goods constantly; the excellent, and rather unique, technical performances of Flexwatch video servers, featuring a sophisticated technology along with easy wiring and operation.
Interest, enthusiasm, commitment, and enjoyment have been the ingredients of this quite innovative meeting. It started at 9.30am and ended at dinner time, when all presents were given (and wore) the Football Italian Team shirt, an El.mo.’s special present to the Molfetta Installers Group, sharing good time and great joy.
